The Cougars finished 11th in the 25 team Shelbyville Regional. Bryce Cotterman led the Cougars with a 21st place finish in 16:02. Cotterman was a spot out of All-Regional, but he qualified for his first state finals by being the 7th of 15 individuals not on one of the top 5 advancing teams. Cotterman got out well, and then settled into a pace and stayed consistent the whole race. After missing a few meets, it was a great race to advance to the state finals. Braylon Mumaugh also had a great race, running a pr of 16:24. Mumaugh was 50th place, but only 12 seconds shy of advancing to the state finals. He raced well putting himself in contention, and running as well as he could at the end of the race. David Wasson had a good finish to his senior season running a solid race of 17:02 to finish 91st. Otto Sickels was the fourth Cougar running 17:18 to finish 105th. Like Mumaugh, Sickels ran his fastest time of the season. Both had a slow start to the season due to lingering injuries from the spring, so it was great to see them both finish with a PR. Jack Wait was the final Cougar in 138th running 17:42. Wait, plagued by injuries most of the season, had a great finish the week before at the Sectional, but was unable to match his performance this week. Michael Peterson made the most of his first Regional by running a PR, and getting under 18 minutes for the first time. Peterson's time of 17:56 was an 8 second PR, and it put him 148th. Also running in his first Regional was freshman, Maeson Robinson. Robinson ran 18:09 to finish 163rd.
