Cougars Sweep New Castle 5-0 in Regional Semifinal The boys tennis team delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over New Castle on Tuesday night in the regional semifinal. At No. 2 singles, Alex Michalek set the tone with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 win. The No. 2 doubles team of Ethan Ortwin and Raleigh Gantt followed with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 performance. No. 1 singles Nathan Roberts clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. In No. 1 doubles, Jacob Welch and Kasen Jarnecke added the fourth point, winning 6-4, 6-2. Andrew White secured the sweep at No. 3 singles, finishing 6-3, 6-4. Tuesday’s performance marked a strong improvement from the regular season, when both No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles matches extended to three sets. This time, the Cougars won all five positions in straight sets.
