Varsity volleyball defeated the Muncie Central Bearcats in Monday night's match. The Cougars also recognized their four seniors: Addi Rugenstein, Mia Reed, Addi Blomberg, and Savvanna Riall. The first set was back and forth between Muncie and GC. The Cougars led throughout the set and prompted two timeouts from Muncie at 16-12 and 21-16. GC was able to close it out 25-20. The Cougars were slower to start in set two, allowing the Bearcats to take a 7-0 lead. The Cougars fought back, but Muncie Central was still holding strong at 14-8. Alex Muegge led the Cougars on an 8 point serving run that helped them come back and take the second set 25-21. GC was in control throughout the third set, taking leads of 8-3 early in the set and 17-13 later in the set. The Cougars closed out the match with a 25-16 win in set three. Varsity volleyball is now 15-9 this season.
