GC Men's Soccer Varsity Wins Conference Game Coming into the game after a lighter week with no game on Tuesday, Greenfield-Central needed to set the tone early against Shelbyville. GC was prepared to play a physical game and because of this, they earned a corner kick within the first five minutes. After the service from Cale Caldwell and a flick from Camden Yost there was chaos inside of Shelbyville’s box until Garrett Jack was able to shoot the ball into the back of then net. GC controlled much of the ball and earned several more free-kicks. Shelbyville was able to capitalize on a defensive mistake by GC and level the score in the 23rd minute. This lit a fire for Greenfield-Central and Camden Yost was able to add his name into the stat book with a headed goal from a Kye Tutrow service just two minutes later. A third goal for GC came from Thompson Resolvo from the PK spot. PK was earned by Cale Caldwell. The halftime score was 3-1. The second half started similarly to the first with several hard challenges and a few bookings. After some back-and-forth between the referee and the Shelbyville team bench, a Shelbyville player received two yellow cards in quick succession. Shelbyville subbed their entire team and actually gained some momentum. GC didn’t let up and Cale Caldwell scored from another Kye Tutrow service.GC subbed in some fresh faces and during this period of play Shelbyville was able to steal one back. The game ended after mental and physical battles that GC were able to come out on top of. The final score was 4-2. Varsity Men's Soccer vs Shelbyville High School (4 - 2) Win
