GC Tennis Falls Just Short Against No. 26 Brownsburg Greenfield-Central boys tennis came up just short in a 2-3 loss to No. 26-ranked Brownsburg on Thursday night. While the final score was close, the Cougars were left feeling they missed some key opportunities to take control of the match. 3 Singles Andrew White picked up a solid win, taking down his opponent 6-2, 7-6(5). 1 Singles Nathan Roberts dropped the first set 3-6 but stormed back from a 1-4 deficit in the second to win 7-5. His opponent retired before the start of the third set, giving GC their second point of the night. 2 Singles Alex Michalek battled in a tight first set but couldn't keep the momentum going, falling 5-7, 1-6. At doubles, 1 doubles Jacob Welch and Kasen Jarnecke struggled to find rhythm against a strong Brownsburg team, losing 0-6, 0-6. 2 Doubles Ethan Ortwein and Raleigh Gantt were in the thick of a competitive first set but couldn't turn the corner, dropping their match 5-7, 2-6. The match was within reach, but a few key moments slipped away from the Cougars.
