Varsity volleyball lost to Yorktown in three straight sets in Wednesday night's match. Yorktown is a volleyball powerhouse and the toughest opponent GC has faced this season. The Cougars were competing well early in the first set, which even prompted a Yorktown timeout. After the timeout the Tigers had a strong push to close out the first set 25-13. GC struggled to gain momentum in the second set and Yorktown stayed in control, leading them to a set two win of 25-6. The Cougars were trailing close behind the Tigers early in the third set. Then Yorktown had two long runs that brought them the third set win of 25-12. Varsity volleyball is now 11-8 this season.
