Greenfield-Central Closes Out Conference Play with 4-1 Win on Senior Night The Greenfield-Central boys tennis team wrapped up conference play in dominant fashion, defeating Yorktown 4-1 and improving their conference record to 6-1. The victory came on a special evening as the Cougars celebrated Senior Night, honoring four outstanding leaders and role models: Nolan Frye, Kasen Jarnecke, Alex Michalek, and Ethan Ortwein. On the court, the Cougars showed their strength: Alex Michalek and Nathan Roberts both won 6-0, 6-0 in under 30 minutes to earn the first 2 points for the Cougars. 2 Doubles – Ethan Ortwein & Raleigh Gantt were up 3-2 before winning 9 games in a row to close out their match 6-2, 6-0. At 3 Singles, Andrew White rounded out the varsity wins with a strong 6-1, 6-2 performance. The Junior Varsity team battled to a hard-fought 4-4 tie, with wins from Kaiden Green, Jack Herrin, Nash Berty, Sal Sanchez, Parker Springman, Landon Leistner, and Kolton Utter. It was a memorable night both on and off the court, as the Cougars celebrated their seniors and capped off an impressive conference season.
