Cougars Defeat MV 4-1 in Boys Tennis The Cougars secured a strong 4-1 victory over MV on Tuesday night, led by a dominant performance across both singles and doubles play. Alex Michalek was first off the court at No. 2 singles, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 win. The No. 2 doubles team of Ethan Ortwein and Raleigh Gantt followed with a decisive 6-3, 6-0 victory. Andrew White sealed the team win at No. 3 singles, delivering a commanding 6-0, 6-2 performance to clinch the match for the Cougars. At No. 1 doubles, Jacob Welch and Kasen Jarnecke battled through several tightly contested points in one of the longer matches of the evening, but ultimately fell 2-6, 2-6. The longest match of the night came at No. 1 singles, where Nathan Roberts staged an impressive comeback. After trailing 2-5 in the first set, Roberts rallied to take it in a tiebreak 7-6(1). He dropped the second set 3-6 but fought through the third to win 6-4, wrapping up a marathon three-hour match. A strong showing across the board gave the Cougars the 4-1 win. On the jv side the team lost 4-5, Nash Berty, Jackson Herrin, Kayden Green, and Guyton Hutcherson all won for jv.
