By Candice Wyatt | Sep 4, 2025 10:00 PM

New Pal is one of the toughest teams on the varsity volleyball schedule. The Cougars came out strong, and were leading 11-9 early in the first set, promping New Pal to use a timeout. Unfortunately GC couldn't hold onto the momentum, and unforced errors allowed New Pal to take the first set 25-13. GC got down early in the second set, letting New Pal take the lead 8-1. With Savvanna Riall at the serving line, the Cougars made a push and tied the game 12-12. New Pal had another serving run that pushed them over the edge in set two, giving them the set 25-17. The Cougars struggled to gain any momentum in the third set, and it went to New Pal 25-11. Varsity volleyball faced a strong opponent tonight, but they showed some resilience and promise for upcoming matches. Varsity volleyball is now 5-5 this season.
