In the second game of this year’s Cougar Cup, Greenfield-Central took on Franklin Central. Right from the kickoff, FC played a long ball that was cleared out for a corner kick which they converted to make it 1-0 in the first minute of the game. GC was still trying to get things organized when FC scored their second goal of the game and the eventual game winner. Keeping the action going, GC got on the scoreboard after a follow up from a wide set piece. The first half ended 2-1. While the first game was a physical battle, the game against FC was more of a technical battle. Both teams had decent chances in the remainder of the game, but the score did not change. There were a few hard challenges and debatable calls, but GC did not let it get to their heads. The final score was 1-2. After two hard games with not a lot of downtime in between, GC showed some grit. Now it is time to rest and recover before taking on Carmel on Tuesday. Next Game: August 26 at Carmel High School
