Men's Cross Country Opens Season at Valley Cross Kickoff

The Cougars finished 10th (280 points) out of 29 teams at their season opener in Terre Haute. Bloomington North ran away with the meet finishing with 48 points. Northridge and Crown Point were 2nd and 3rd with 113 and 152 points respectively. The top Cougar was junior, Bryce Cotterman, in 14th place. The top 15 competitors in the race received a free t-shirt. Cotterman's time was 16:57. Sophomore Jack Wait was 37th in 17:27. Senior, David Wasson, had a good start to his senior campaign finishing 51st in 17:43. Junior, Henry Rahe, was 71st in 18:04. Rounding out the scoring was junior, Adam Shields, who after missing the entire track season due to injury, started the season only 10 seconds shy of his pr from last year finishing 112nd in 18:58. The last two runners to round out the top 7 were juniors, Jaxon Conaway and Michael Peterson. After a hard fought battle between the two, newcomer Conaway finished 2 seconds ahead of Peterson in 19:14 in 139th. Peterson's time of 19:16 (141st place) was a 3.5 minute improvement over his time from last year. Freshmen, Maeson Robinson started his career well with a time of 19:43 in 164th place. Junior, Hunter Wiswell, competed in his first meet finishing with a time of 21:45 in 225th place. Junior, Nick Ryba, finished 247th in 23:13, and Junior, Josiah Johnson, finished 264th in 24:57.
