Von Quigley and Bradley Streveler Qualify for State

By Aaron Smith | May 30, 2025 9:14 AM

In his first Regional as a high school athlete, Von Quigley threw consistently well, and threw a PR of 160'7". The mark was good enough for 2nd place and a trip to his first state finals as a high schooler. Quigley is seeded 28th at state. Bradley Streveler qualified for his second state meet in 2 years, by jumping 6'6" which was over the state standard. Streveler's jump put him 4th in the Regional, and he is seeded 9th at state. Zach Blevens had a great season in the discus, but his season came to end as he finished 14th with a throw of 123'3". In the pole vault, Liam Taylor finished 10th in 12'6". The 4x100 team of John Stuckey, Austin Kincer, Ian Erwin, and Jalen Stuckey ran a season best time of 42.60 which was 0.14 seconds off the state standard. The quartet finished 6th. They would have qualified for state in 6 out of 8 Regionals. The time was the 3rd best in school history. The final scorer was Jordin Jones in the 400. Jones finished 8th in 50.36. Garrett Jack got a callback in the 400 to advance and finished 13th in 51.87. Freshman, Jack Wait, just missed scoring as he was 9th place in the 3200 with a time of 10:01.36. Peter Hummel finished 11th in the 3200 with a time of 10:13.61. Bryce Cotterman finished 13th in the 1600 with a time of 4:44.83. Jalen Stuckey finished 13th in the 100 with a time of 11.09. Austin Kincer finished 15th in the 200 with a time of 23.21. The 4x400 team of Garrett Jack, Everett Bishop, Will Erwin, and Jordin Jones finished 13th in 3:26.25. Congratulations to seniors Zach Blevens, Jalen Stuckey, John Stuckey, Austin Kincer, Jordin Jones, and Peter Hummel on great seasons. The future looks bright for the Cougars as Freshmen Von Quigley, Jack Wait and Will Erwin and Sophomores Garrett Jack, Everett Bishop, Bryce Cotterman, and Bradley Streveler gained valuable experience competing in the Regional.
