Lady Cougars defeat East Central 6-2 Varsity vs East Central High School. The Lady Cougars headed traveled to East Central to finish out the regular season and came home victorious 6-2. The win capped off a 7-game winning streak and started like most of our games of late, trailing after 1 inning. East Central scored on 3 singles to take a 1-0 lead, the Cougars came back with 3 in the 2nd on a Tovaria Smith double, a hit by pitch, an error loading the bases, Avery Daniels dropped a fly ball down the right field line to score 2 and Josie White put down a perfect bunt scoring Addi Herrin to give us a 3-1 lead. The Cougars would add a run in the 3rd and another one in the 4th. The Cougars would tack on an insurance run in the 6th taking a 6-1 lead. The 7th a couple Cougar errors led to the final run of the game and 6-2 win. The defense turned the 19th double play of the year and diving catches by Herrin, Riall and White. Tovaria Smith nursing an injury went 2 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 earned run and 1 strike out to pick up the win. Addi Heacox went 4 innings allowing 3 hits an unearned run and a strike out. Josie White was 3 for 4, 3 runs and a rbi, Savvanna Riall 3 for 4, a double, and 2 rbi, Avery Daniels 1 for 3 with 2 rbi. The Lady Cougars begin Sectional play at 7pm Tuesday vs Mt Vernon at Mt Vernon
