Greenfield-Central couldn’t overcome an early deficit on Thursday night, falling to the New Palestine Dragons 9-0 to close out the two-game series. New Pal jumped ahead in the 1st and never looked back, scoring three on a bases-clearing homer and adding runs in the 2nd, 5th, and 7th innings. Offensively, the Cougars managed three hits on the night, coming from Brady Johnson (double), Gavin Markus, and Hayden Kidd (double), but couldn’t get the timely hit to spark a rally. On the mound, Gavin Markus got the start and struck out three across 4.1 innings of work. Steven Walker and Henry Close combined for the final 2.2 innings, adding four more strikeouts out of the bullpen.
