The Cougars JV tennis team faced off against Morristown’s varsity squad on Tuesday night and came away with an impressive 4-1 victory. Bella Hurst and Chaille Frye dominated at #2 doubles, cruising to a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win. At #1 singles, Audrey Marcum showed poise under pressure, holding and breaking serve late in the first set to take it 6-4 before closing out the match 6-3 in the second. In singles action, Kate Baker battled through a challenging match at #2 singles, gaining momentum in the second set before falling 0-6, 3-6. Lila Wagner and Nevaeh Carmichael executed a smart, consistent game plan at #1 doubles, earning a solid 6-3, 6-4 win. The match of the night came at #3 singles, where Audrey Hart mounted a thrilling comeback. After dropping the first set 3-6 and falling behind 3-4 in the second, she rallied to win the tiebreak 7-6(3). Hart then sealed the deal in a nail-biting third-set super tiebreak, 12-10, clinching the fourth point for the Cougars. Rounding out the night, Chloe Takach played an excellent match at #4 singles, earning an 8-0 win with sharp forehands and impressive consistency on her serve. A strong team effort and a well-earned win!
