GC Wins offensive battle 12-9

Greenfield Central Cougars went on the road to defeat Wapahani 12-9 in 6 innings (due to darkness). The Cougars umped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Brady Johnson doubled which scored 2 runs. Zander Cobb and Hayden Kidd both singled scoring a run each to lead by 4. Wapahani responded with 5 runs in the 5th inning. In the top of the 6th, GC scored 8 runs to lead 12-7. The Cougars were lead offensively by Cooper Safford with 3 doubles and 2 runs batted in. Zander Cobb and Hayden Zellers each had 2 hits along with an rbi each. Brady Johnson, Hayden Kidd, and Jacob Welch each 2 rbi's along with Safford. Walker Miller had an outstanding performance on his first varsity start on the mound as he allowed only 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 3. Carter Ellis got the win while Carson Richardson earned the save. Greenfield Central travels to New Castle on Tuesday and also hosts the Trojans on Wednesday for HHC conference matchups. GC then travels to #1 ranked Noblesville on Friday.
