GC Mens Basketball wins in record setting fashion over Martinsville

Cougar senior nights resulted in a big victory with multiple records being set! As a team, the Cougars set the school recored for made field goals in a game with 43 made field goals. Greenfield Central defeated visiting Martinsville 102-62 to improve to 20-3 on the season. This is also the 3rd straight season the Cougars have won 20+ games and the senior class has the most wins in school history over their 4 year span. During senior night, GC honored seniors Boston Willard, Dallas Freeman, Braylon Mullins, Brady Johnson, Cooper Robertson, Mikey Johnson and manager Carter Rankins! Prior to the game, senior Braylon Mullins was honored for being a McDonalds All American, where he will play in the All American game in Brooklyn on April 1st. The Cougars had an impressive 31 assists (unconfirmed record) in the victory while only turning it over 3 times. In the victory, Cougar standout and Mr. Basketball favorite Braylon Mullins surpassed 2000 career points as he posted 52 points in the victory. The 52 points in the game breaks Mullins' own school record for points in a game now as he surpassed the 51 points he had last year against Pendleton Heights. Braylon also set the school record for made field goals in a game with 23. Against the Artesians, Braylon also added 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Senior Boston Willard continued his dominance with 13 assists, 7 points, 5 steals and 3 rebounds. Boston Willard added to his record setting assist record for the year as he is the all time assist leader in a season. Senior Dallas Freeman had an outstanding game with 14 points, 8 steals and 2 rebounds. Mikey Johnson was also in double figures with 13 points while pitching in 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 8 assists. Seniors Brady Johnson had 3 points and 3 assists while senior Cooper Robertson added 3 points. Others in the scoring column were Tucker Brown (4), Cole Mullins (3), and Clay Mullins (3). Greenfield Central travels to Perry Meridian for the season finale on Wednesday February 26th. The IHSAA sectional draw is scheduled for Sunday February 23rd.
