Wrestling: Parsons, Zuber, and Blevens qualify for IHSAA State Finals.

Greenfield-Central wrestlers performed strongly at the IHSAA Semi-State in New Castle, with standout finishes from Lincoln Parsons, Cade Zuber, and Zach Blevens who all qualified for next week's IHSAA State Finals in Indianapolis. At 113 pounds, Lincoln Parsons (34-4) earned a 3rd-place finish. Parsons started with an impressive tech fall victory over Isaia Gardner and a narrow decision win over Carlo Federici. Despite a tough semifinal loss in sudden victory to Keegan Dresslar, Parsons bounced back in the 3rd-place match, securing a decision win over Cole Freese. In the 138-pound class, Cade Zuber (27-14) finished 4th, scoring 11 team points. Zuber triumphed over Gage Sherwood by fall and followed it up with a major decision victory over Alex Heineman. However, he was defeated by Gunner Butt and Terry Easley in the semifinals and 3rd-place match. At 157 pounds, Aiden Briles (23-13) was eliminated early after a fall to Kameron Mikesell, while Mason Thompson (30-8) at 165 pounds scored a win by fall over Jimmy Pappas but was later pinned by Michael Major in the quarterfinals. Tristen Lanum (25-12) at 215 pounds scored 3.5 team points, securing a tech fall victory over Leevi Koons before being defeated by Noah Weaver in the quarterfinals. Zach Blevens (31-6) placed 3rd at 285 pounds, earning 13 team points. After a thrilling sudden victory win over Camden Funk and a solid decision over Max Amberger, Blevens was pinned by Jacari Markey in the semifinals. However, he finished strong with a fall over Job Mavrick in the 3rd-place match. Up next for GC is the 2025 IHSAA State Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
