GC improves to 17-2 with a 70-49 victory over Greenwood

Greenfield Central Cougars improve to 17-2 while extending winning streak to 10 games. The Cougars defeated the Woodmen of Greenwood 70-49 on Saturday afternoon. In the victory over Greenwood, Senior Mr. Basketball candidate Braylon Mullins lead the way with 44 points while adding 7 steals and 6 boards. Senior Mikey Johnson was also in double figures with 10 points and had an impressive 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Point Guard Boston Willard has continued his impressive play with 7 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Dallas Freeman pitched in 4 points, 6 boards, 3 assists and 3 blocks. Senior Brady Johnson finished out the scoring column with 5 points and had an assist and steal. Over the last 3 seasons, the Greenfield Central Cougars are 62-5, which ranks them first in the state of Indiana for winning percentage. Greenfield Central will look to improve on those numbers but will have a tough upcoming week as they host Franklin Central on Tuesday and Lawrence Central on Friday in a Cancer Awareness night. GC then finishes the regular season by traveling to East Central and then hosting Martinsville on Senior Nights on February 22nd. The Cougars last regular season game will be at Perry Meridian on February 26th.
