The Greenfield-Central Cougars finished the regular season with a win against the Southport Cardinals Thursday evening. Four of the Cougars scored in the double digits, allowing the team to win 3 or the 4 quarters: Madison Sonsini (20pts), Chaney Brown (17pts.), Brooklyn McConnell (13pts.) , and Izzy Silcox (10pts.). Kynsey Hasty and Paislee Brown both contributed 2 points, and Josie White had 1 point. Sonsini led in rebounds with 10; she also had 3 assists. Brown finished with 5 rebounds and 2 assists, and Silcox and McConnell both had 4 boards. Silcox led in steals with 4, and Ainsley Robinson added 2. The team plays in the first round of sectionals Tuesday night at Mt. Vernon (6pm start). They will take on the Richmond Red Devils.
