Greenfield Central Cougars defeated 13-3 HHC opponent Shelbyville 82-60 to take a commanding lead in the HHC standings. The Cougars improved to 13-2 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in HHC conference play. In the conference win, GC placed 3 Cougars in double figures. Cougar standout and Mr. Basketball candidate Braylon Mullins finished with a season high 43 points on an impressive 17-22 shooting while adding 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Cooper Robertson had a career high 14 points while adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Mikey Johnson was also in double figures with 11 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Point guard Boston Willard continued his excellent play with 9 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 points. Dallas Freeman pitched in 9 points and 7 boards. Other contributors were Brady Johnson with 3 assists and a board, Cole Mullins with 2 points and Tucker Brown with 2 assists and a rebound. Greenfield Central hosts Pendleton Heights for an HHC contest on Friday January 31st and then travel to Muncie Central on Saturday night. The Cougars need a win against Pendleton Heights to secure at least a tie for the HHC conference championship. Greenfield Central is currently 13-2 this season and 37-3 since beginning of last season while being an amazing 58-5 over past 3 seasons.
