Greenfield-Central Girls Wrestling Makes Strong Impact at Inaugural IHSAA State Finals The Greenfield-Central Girls' Wrestling team had an impressive showing at the inaugural IHSAA Girls' Wrestling State Finals, with placements from all three qualifiers: Keely Allen, Jasmine Camacho, and Ella Harpold. Keely Allen, competing in the 235-pound weight class, finished 8th after a series of tough matches. She opened strong with a 5-3 upset win over #2 Brielle Humphries from Kokomo but faced a series of close losses. After dropping her quarterfinal bout 1-0 to Madison Shrader of Columbus East a second 1-0 defeat to Dhamara Aguilar Tencle from Seymour followed and a narrow 10-9 loss in the 7th place match to Bresa Coan from Jennings County ended her tournament. In the 145-pound weight class, Jasmine Camacho earned a 4th place finish. Camacho started the tournament strong, pinning Kaylee Minton from Blackford in 2:45 and dominating Hailey Kunz from North Montgomery with an 11-0 major decision. She advanced to the semifinals but was pinned by Jazlinn Diaz-Avalos from Franklin Community. Camacho then lost a tight 4-3 decision in a Sectional and Regional Championship rematch to Leighna Prater from East Central in the 3rd place match, securing her 4th place overall. Ella Harpold, competing in the 155-pound weight class, placed 5th with a series of solid performances. Harpold began with a fall in just 45 seconds over Samaya Taylor from Boonville. She faced a quarterfinal setback, losing 5-0 to Maylie Skinner from Madison Consolidated, but bounced back with a 7-0 win over Mariana Castro from Warsaw in the consolation round. In the 5th place match, Harpold claimed a 4-1 victory over Lily Bridges from Franklin Community, securing her top-5 finish. With these strong performances, the Greenfield-Central Girls Wrestling team finished 21st place overall with 27 points.
