On Wednesday the boys JV and Varsity wrestling teams traveled to Roncalli to take on the 3A #2 and #8 overall Royals. Roncalli jumped out to an early lead after a decision at 120 and 2 falls at 126 and 132. The cougars got on the board at 138 when Cade Zuber won a 7-0 match. After the Royals recorded another fall at 144, Cam Gardner and Aiden Briles recorded falls of their own at 150 and 157 respectively. At 165 Mason Thompson may have won the most exciting match of the night, a 10-9 come from behind win, taking the lead in the final 15 seconds. The cougars gave up a fall and a tech fall at 175 and 190. They. bounced back, however, with back to back falls at 215 and HWT by Tristen Lanum and Zac Blevens. This left the team score 32-30 in favor of the Royals. The final two matches saw Roncalli win by major decision and by fall. The final score was Roncalli 42 and Greenfield 30.
