GC Mens BB defeats New Pal by 17

Greenfield Central Cougars dominated the New Palestine Dragons in the first half and lead by 19 at halftime. GC went on to win 74-57 in the HHC and Hancock County battle. The Cougars have now won back-to-back regular season conference games. Braylon Mullins had an outstanding performance and lead all scorers with 37 points on 12-17 shooting from the field while being a perfect a 11-11 from the charity stripe. Mullins also added 7 rebounds. Senior Boston Willard was on fire and shot 5-8 from the field (4-6 for 3's) for 14 points while adding 4 boards, 4 assists and 3 steals. Mikey Johnson was in double figures with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Tucker Brown got the Cougars going early by shooting 2-3 from deep while adding 3 rebounds and 3 assists with his 6 points. Brady Johnson added 4 points while Dallas Freeman had 2 points, 3 steals and an impressive 5 rebounds. Overall, the Cougars were 43% for 3's and 18-23 from the free throw line. GC out rebounded the Dragons while also committing fewer turnovers throughout the game and having a higher field goal percentage. These all combined to result in the decisive victory. The 4-0 Cougars travel to the Forum Classic at Southport at 5:15 pm on Saturday to take on #5 Lawrence North Wildcats. GC returns to HHC play next Friday at Yorktown.
