Greenfield Central doubled up Decatur Central Hawks 78-39 to advance to 3-0 on the season. The Cougars lead from the beginning by jumping on the Hawks 27-4 after the first period. GC went on to tie a school record of 17 made 3 point field goals while shooting 66% from the field as a team. The Cougars were an astounding 17-28 from deep. The unselfish Cougars also had an impressive 21 assists in the game. The Cougars were lead by Senior Mr. Basketball candidate Braylon Mullins with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 3 quarters of play. Fellow senior Mikey Johnson had an amazing game with 15 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Boston Willard had 6 points, 5 assists and 2 steals. Dallas Freeman had a impressive 8 boards, 2 points, and 2 assists. Junior Cole Mullins came off the bench and was 5-5 from the field for 14 points while also grabbing 4 rebounds. Brady Johnson, Blake Evans and Isaac Roberts each knocked down a 3 for the Cougars. Greenfield Central Cougars have a challenging weekend. They will host HHC, country rival and IBCA #10 New Palestine on Friday night in a boys-girls varsity double header. GC then travels to the Forum Classic at Southport on Saturday to face IBCA #6 Lawrence North.
