Junior varsity wrestled at Yorktown HS this being their first tournament, GCHS had an okay performance, placing 13th overall with team 85 points. Among the standout competitors, Marshall Swails and Hayden Tomey both earned 5th place finishes in their respective weight classes with 2-1 records. James Holden, also with a 2-1 record, secured 3rd place, showing great resilience on the mat. Parker Cupp joined Holden with a 3rd place finish, McCoy Wilson, despite a tough 1-2 record, managed to place 4th, demonstrating grit and determination. Other competitors such as Izzy House, Izaiah Beck, and Doug Campbell each fought hard, with House and Campbell finishing with 1-2 records and House taking 6th place, while Beck ended the day at 2-1. Jaydin Wiles also struggled, finishing 6th after going 1-2. Unfortunately, several wrestlers like Liam Doffin, Chase Antle, Hunter Wiswell, and David Burroughs faced challenges, ending their runs with 0-2 or 1-2 records. Despite the setbacks, the team showed promise and determination, with plenty of room to grow this season.
