The GC Varsity Wrestling Team had a mixed bag of results on Saturday. They faced tough competition and showcased a lineup featuring 5 freshmen getting their first varsity action of their careers. The Cougars finished 2-2 overall with victories over North White and Eastern Hancock but fell short against #8 Portage and the hosts, Rossville. Individually, GC had standout performances from Kainen Shores, Lincoln Parsons, Jett McGuire, and Mason Thompson who all went unbeaten with 4-0 records. Cam Gardner, Jackson Burgin, and Zach Blevens delivered strong showings with 3-1 records on the day. Next up the Cougars host Pendleton Heights at home on Wednesday.
