Greenfield-Central Defeats Pendleton

The Greenfield-Central Cougars won an exciting game Friday evening, defeating the Arabians 60-59. The team was down by 12 points at halftime, but came out strong and cut the lead early in the 3rd quarter. Madison Sonsini led the offense with 31 points, finishing 10/15 from the field and shooting 10/11 from the free-throw line. Izzy Silcox hit some big 3s, shooting 5/9 overall from the field. Chaney Brown finished the game with 11 points, contributing key offense late in the second half. Sonsini also led the team in rebounds with 10; Brown and Silcox both finished with 6 boards. Juliann Jones played aggressive defense, which frustrated the Arabians; she finished with 5 deflections and 2 steals. Guards Brooklyn McConnell and Ainsley Robinson moved the ball well, McConnell finishing with 3 assists and Robinson with 2 assists. The team travels to Heritage Christian Monday night. 6pm JV start.
