Varsity vs Perry Meridian High School (24 - 48) Loss The Greenfield-Central Girls' wrestling team traveled to Perry Meridian Wednesday night to take on the Falcons. The dual started at 115 pounds. Nevaeh Branscum, the varsity 110 lb'er, bumped up a weight and took the mat first for the Cougars and lost by fall. After giving up a forfeit at 120, the Cougars sent out Annie Johnson to wrestle 125 pounds. Annie gave up 6 points in the first period and lost the match 6-1. The Cougars gave up another forfeit at 130 making the team score 21-0 Perry. At 135 pounds freshman Sophie Henderson made her season debut. Sophie got the first takedown of the match before being reversed and pinned in the 1st period. Katie Rigney stepped on the mat at 140 and wrestled a solid, tough match, losing just 2-0. The team score at this point was 30-0. However, the Cougars would get on the board with back-to-back wins by seniors Jasmine Camacho and Ella Harpold. At 145 Camacho dominated with 2 takedowns and a 4 point near fall before pinning her opponent. Harpold, at 155, wasted no time getting a takedown and a fall in 1:02. After giving up a forfeit at 170, Madalyn Reed received a forfeit at 190. At 235 Keely Allen wrestled a tight 1-0 match into the third period before getting pinned. The Cougars gave up a forfeit at 100 pounds and Asia Bowen bumped up from 105 to 110 to get a match. Asia, in the last match of the night, wrestled great. After being taken down Asia dominated with 2 reversals and a fall. The Cougars wrestling again this Saturday at the Purdue Poly Invite
