GC men’s soccer traveled to New Castle tonight after having a team dinner at Montana Mikes earlier. This is the final Varsity match of the regular season for the Varsity team. The first half in action we got to see many attempts by GC with shots, but none would score. Halftime 0-0 Again we are having solid attacks in the final third throughout the second half, but struggled to score. The ball control and movement was better and the boys were finding their rhythm. In the final minutes of the half we are attacking extremely hard and an own goal by New Castle happened in the 76th minute. GC goes up 1-0 and would hold on for the final 4 minutes of regulation. Final 1-0 Varsity is next in action Monday with a 7:30 kick off for sectional play vs Greenwood Community at Mary Bryan Elementary. Hope to see a big crowd of blue shirts there. JV is in action this Saturday for the JV tournament. They play at 10 am and 2 pm at GC Soccer Complex.
