The girls varsity volleyball team played a competitive game against the Mt. Vernon Marauders in Tuesday night's match-up. After losing the first set 25-10, the Cougars battled back and took set two 25-22. Greenfield trailed in the third set and came up short 25-21. Mt. Vernon led the whole fourth set and took the win 25-23. Despite being down 11-17 in the fourth set, the Cougars were able to narrow down Mt. Vernon's lead to one point at 23-24. Unfortunately, the Cougars were unable to secure the win. Varsity volleyball is now 10-6 this season. Their next game is at Shelbyville on Thursday, September 19.
