The Cougars boys cross country team competed in the competitive Rick Weinheimer Classic with 4 of the top 5 ranked teams in the state going 1, 2, 3, 4. With fast competition, a good course, and perfect weather, it was a great day for racing. The young Cougar team finished 9th with their top 5 runners all under 16 minutes, and the 6th runner just over 17 minutes. This is only the second year the Cougars have had 5 under 17 with last year being the first, except the Cougars graduated 3 of the 5 under 17. Sophomore Braylon Mumaugh led the way with a 45th place finish with a new pr time of 16:29. Close behind was fellow sophomore, Henry Rahe, in 49th with a time of 16:33 which was a pr. Sprinting hard and closing the gap was junior, David Wasson who finished one spot, and one second behind Rahe. Wasson's time of 16:34 was the first time he was under 16 minutes. Sophomore, Bryce Cotterman, also broke 17 minutes for the first time finishing 66th in 16:54. Only one spot and one second behind was senior, Peter Hummel. Hummel also broke 17 for the first time with his time of 16:55. Freshman, Jack Wait, just missed breaking 17 with his time of 17:06 and 76th place. He ran the 2nd fastest time of any freshman Cougar on that course. Freshman, Otto Sickels, ran a huge minute pr, to finish 98th in 17:36. Senior Ben Flora tied his pr with a time of 19:04 finishing 148th. First year runner, sophomore Adam Shields, had over a minute pr to finish 154th in 19:13.
