The varsity volleyball team came in fourth out of 6 teams at the 9th annual Shondell Family Invite. The Cougars defeated Fort Wayne South Side in two sets, 25-9 and 25-11. Greenfield struggled in their next game against the undefeated Southwood Knights. Coming into the game, the Knights had not dropped a single set in any of their games so far this season. They continued this streak by defeating Greenfield-Central 25-17 and 25-14. In the finals match against Muncie Burris, the Cougars were able to take set two, but did not walk away with the win against the reigning 2A state champs. Final scores were 11-25, 27-25, and 9-15. Varsity volleyball is now 9-4 this season. Their next game is at Greenwood Christian Academy on Tuesday, September 10.
