Varsity Football vs Beech Grove High School (50 - 8) Win The Greenfield Central Cougars were on the road this past Friday traveling to Beech Grove High School. The game was the Cougars season opener and ended in a 50-8 victory over the Hornets. The Cougar defense scored twice on fumble recoveries by senior Kody Smith and Junior Cooper Hinton. The Cougars were led defensively by sophomore Trenton Smith with 13 total tackles. Jake VanOsdol and Zach Blevens contributed for 6 TFLS and 4 Sacks and Senior Payton Foley had 11 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFLs. The Cougar offense amassed over 300 yards of offense utilizing both the run and pass game. Boston Willard had 2 catches for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Cooper Hinton accumulated 2 offensive touchdowns on the ground and led the Cougars in rushing 4 carries for 64 yards. Payton Foley also accounted for a rushing touchdown. Senior Place Kicker Andrew Trabel was 6/6 on PATS. The Cougars home opener is next Friday against Greensburg HS
