Varsity vs Franklin Central High School (3 - 4) Loss Franklin Central Varsity - Monday's varsity match saw the Lady Cougars Soccer Team host the Flashes from Franklin Central. An early goal by FC put the Cougars down 1-0. Paige McCarley found Aubrey Bush for the equalizer just 6 minutes later. A goal from Franklin Central midway through the half saw the Cougars down again 2-1. Aubrey Bush tied it up again off a wicked cross from Carly Means to make it 2-2. Greenfield-Central gave up two corner kick goals in the last 2:12 of the first half to trail 4-2 at the half. A spirited halftime talk from the captains re-focused the team. GC had the run of play in the second half and got a goal midway through the half from birthday girl, Kinley Smith, after a great run down the sideline and cross from Aubrey Bush for 4-3. Several more chances fell just short of going in for the tie. A free kick from Claire Davidson landed on the post that the FC keeper barely ticked away to preserve the win for the Flashes. Carline Felver had 13 saves in the loss. The Lady Cougars (1-2-0) travel to Roncalli on Wednesday.
