Our lady Cougars got off to a great start scoring 1 run on a Charlotte Riehle single and followed it up with Leilani Forshey's 13th home run a 3 run shot. Mt Vernon came back with 4 in the bottom of the 1st including a 3 run homer. Kristen Wineinger hit a solo home run in the 2nd to give the Cougars a 5-4 lead. We added 2 more in the 3rd on a 2 run single by Wineinger. Offense was lead by Wineinger 2 for 3, scored 2 runs, 3 rbi. Leilani Forshey 2 for 4, scored a run, 3 rbi. Allison Hornaday 2 for4, Makenna Rankins 2 for 4. Madysen Herbert got the win going 5.1 innings allowing 8 hits 5 earned runs, striking out 8. Addi Heacox finished the game going 1.2 innings allowing 1 hit, striking out 2 The Lady Cougars are in the Sectional finals tomorrow night at 6 pm at Pendleton Heights
