Varsity vs Mt Vernon High School (Fortville) (2 - 3) Loss Even though Parker Rhodes struck out 11 batters, Greenfield-Central Cougars Varsity baseball fell short to Mt. Vernon on Wednesday at Greenfield-Central High School. Rhodes gave up five hits and three runs over five innings while only walking two. A single by Mason Meyer on a full count put Mt. Vernon Varsity Marauders on the board in the top of the first. Brady Johnson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cougars in hits. Dylan Luther stole two bases, 1 hit and a walk. Seniors Ownen Zumbolo and Kirk Knecht added a hit each to the cougar offense. Freshman, Gavin Markus was in relief for the cougars and was outstanding again.
