Varsity vs McCutcheon High School (11 - 4) WinGreenfield-Central Cougars Varsity easily dispatched #5 Ranked McCutcheon Mavericks on Saturday at Greenfield-Central High School, 11-4. McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks first got on the board when Logan Marsell singled, scoring one run. Greenfield-Central Cougars Varsity captured the lead, 7-3, in the bottom of the second after McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks committed an error, Kirk Knecht singled, McCutcheon Mavericks committed an error, Brady Johnson was struck by a pitch, and Jacob Welch hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Kaden Snodgrass earned the win for Greenfield-Central Cougars Varsity. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Aiden Riser took the loss for McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks. They went two innings, surrendering seven runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking one.
