GC Tennis picked up a 4-1 victory over Alexandria Thursday night. The Cougars got on the board first at No. 1 singles, where Nathan Roberts was leading 5-3 when his opponent had to forfeit. Jack Herrin and Kayden Green followed with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. At No. 2 singles, Nash Berty battled through a long match, coming all the way back to 4-5 in the second set before falling 2-6, 4-6. Raleigh Gantt then clinched the team victory at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Jacob Welch and Andrew White finished off the varsity match with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6(11) victory at No. 1 doubles. The JV Cougars also picked up a 4-1 victory. Winners included Sal Sanchez, Landon Leistner, Grayson Cary, Tim Montgomery, Guyton Hutcherson, and Kane Dreesen.
