GC women's Varsity soccer COUGARS SHUT OUT NEW PALESTINE, 4–0! A beautiful sunny afternoon on the grass saw Greenfield-Central take control early and finish strong against New Palestine. The Cougars created chances throughout the opening half, with shots from Jessica Kleinknight, Ainsley Robinson, Aubrey Bush and Kinley Smith keeping the Dragons under pressure. Brooklyn Emmerling provided a few chances for scoring with her throw-ins. At the 28-minute mark, Aubrey Bush delivered a perfect service to Ainsley Robinson, who buried it in the back of the net to give GC a 1–0 lead. Caroline Felver came up with a big save late in the half to preserve the advantage. HALFTIME: GC 1–0 The Cougars wasted no time adding to the lead in the second half. 1:10 — GOAL! Aubrey Bush took a beautiful service from Mia Brinkruff carried the ball forward and finished it to make 2-0. 8' -- GOAL! Kinley Smith finished on the weak side after another excellent cross from Mia Brinkruff to push the lead to 3–0. GC continued applying pressure, including a rocket from Lucy Blanton from nearly 40 yards that forced a defensive clearance over the crossbar. 30’ — GOAL! Ainsley Robinson found the back of the net again, this time assisted by Mia Brinkruff completing the Cougars’ scoring. Meanwhile, Caroline Felver continued to keep the Dragons off the board with several key saves, including big stops on a corner and free kick.
