The varsity volleyball played a hard-fought match against the Mt. Vernon Marauders. The Cougars came out strong and took the first set 25-16. GC couldn't maintain their momentum in the second set and fell to MV 25-13. The Cougars were back in set three and pushed for a win of 25-18. The Marauders got up to a 7-0 lead in the fourth set and GC couldn't climb out of it. MV took set four 25-16. The fifth and final set was back-and-forth down to the final point. Despite getting up to a 6-2 lead, the Cougars couldn't clinch the win and MV took the set 15-13. Varsity volleyball is now 10-8 this season and 0-3 in conference. Despite the loss, the Cougars competed against a strong team and played an exciting match.
