⚽️ JV Cougars Battle Columbus North The Greenfield-Central JV girls battled Columbus North at home in a hard-fought matchup. The Cougars came out strong in the first half, spending extended stretches in the Bulldogs’ half and putting consistent pressure on their defense. Columbus North broke through when a loose ball popped out near the top of the box and was lifted over the GC keeper and into the net. Valerie Norton stepped in at goalkeeper and delivered a strong performance, making several saves and coming off her line multiple times to shut down dangerous attacks. Megan Byerley also played a key role defensively, helping keep the back line organized and battling throughout the match. GC came out with renewed energy in the second half and created several dangerous chances. A brief communication breakdown allowed Columbus North to add a second goal, but the Cougars never stopped fighting. They continued to pressure, compete, and battle all the way to the final whistle.
