The varsity volleyball team battled in tonight's game against New Pal but came up just short in the fifth set. The undefeated New Pal team barely edged out the Cougars in the first set, winning 25-22. Greenfield-Central took control in the second set and won by a score of 25-17. The Dragons clinched the third set with a close score of 26-24. The Cougars had a slow start in the fourth set and got down 13-4. GC got on a few scoring runs and stormed back to take the set 25-23. In their first fifth set of the season, the Cougars got off to a slow start and New Pal got up to an early lead. New Pal closed out the set and match with a final score of 15-9. Tonight was a thrilling and competitive match between these two county rivals. Varsity volleyball is now 5-6 this season and 0-2 in conference.
