Men's Cross Country Wins County/MV Invite

The Cougars won the County meet with a score of 23 points. New Palestine just edged out Mt. Vernon for second by a score of 52 to 53. Eastern Hancock finished 4th with 120 points. The Cougars had five runners in the top 10 earning All County honors. Braylon Mumaugh led the Cougars with a runner-up finish with a time of 15:50. The Cougars took the next three spots with Bryce Cotterman (3rd, 16:26), Jack Wait (4th, 16:32), and Otto Sickels (5th, 16:40). Michael Peterson was the last Cougar to ear All County honors with a 9th place finish in a time of 17:16. Freshman, Hudson Rahe, had a good season opening 5k finishing 13th in 17:27. The seventh runner was Parker Lawson finishing 18th in 17:41 who ran a 59 second pr from last year. The race was also the Mt. Vernon Invitational. The Cougars won the Invitational as well finishing with 34 points. Mt. Vernon and New Palestine tied with 67 points but the Marauders 6th runner was ahead of New Pal's 6th ensuring 2nd place for Mt. Vernon. Whiteland was fourth with 87, Lapel 5th with 149, Cathedral 6th with 160, Blackford 7th with 188 and Eastern Hancock 8th with 249. Mumaugh was 4th running a 34 second pr. Cotterman was 5th. Wait was 6th running a 25 second pr. Sickels was 7th running a 36 second pr. Peterson was 12th running a 40 second pr. Rahe was 16th in his first race. Lawson was 22nd with a 59 second pr. Hunter Wiswell was 28th running 17:57 which was 1:19 second pr. Jaxon Conaway was 32nd running 18:08 which was a 7 second pr. and Josiah Johnson was 61st running 19:18 which was almost a minute and a half pr. In the JV race, the Cougars were led by Max Orr's 9th place finish running his first 5k in 19:22. Waylon Hadler and Brayden Neal finished 18th and 19th, running 20:16 and 20:19 respectively in their first 5k's. Henry Clossey finished 27th in 21:11 which was a 34 second pr. Nick Ryba finished 29th in 21:23. Ben Erwin finished 35th in 22:15. Landon Leswing finished 46th in 23:26. Noah Harrison finished 54th in 25:38.
