The Greenfield-Central Cougars finished the Cougar Cup Tournament in championship fashion, defeating Crispus Attucks 6–0 to claim the Cougar Cup Championship! 🏆 The Cougars came out a little slow in the first half, but after settling in and finding their rhythm, the team began to pick up the intensity and control the match. Bennett Singco opened the scoring in the 6th minute with an assist from Braylon Sheffield, followed by Grayson Young in the 15th minute off a pass from Jase Findley. The Cougars took a 2–0 lead into halftime and came out with renewed energy in the second half. Bryson Rutledge extended the lead in the 48th minute with his second assist of the game from Jase Findley. Just four minutes later, Santiago Cleary found the back of the net off an assist from Spencer Nguyen to make it 4–0. Ethan Greulich then scored twice in the final 13 minutes, with assists from Tyler McConnell and Santiago Cleary. The Cougars continued to defend well throughout the match, with Anson Murphy and Sawyer Chatmon each recording four saves and a clean sheet. The shutout marked the Cougars’ second of the season, with both goalkeepers contributing to a strong defensive performance. Overall, the Cougars showed great determination, teamwork, and composure when it mattered most. After finding their rhythm, the team continued to push forward and finish strong to secure the championship.
