Men's Track and Field Finishes Runner-Up with Several Individual Sectional Champs

The Cougars finished runner-up in their Sectional to Franklin Central. Team Results 1) Franklin Central 170 2) Greenfield-Central 130 3) Roncalli 98 4) Warren Central 93 5) New Palestine 80 6) Beech Grove 30 7) Lutheran 7 8) Scecina 1 The Cougars had several Individual Sectional Champions. Braylon Mumaugh won both the 1600 and the 800 with times of 4:21.65 and 1:55.22 respectively. He along with Garrett Jack, Ian Erwin, and Everett Bishop also finished runner up in the 4x400 with a season best time of 3:24.13. Von Quigley was the Sectional Champion in the discus with a throw of 167'6". He finished runner up in the shot put with a throw of 51'1". Liam Taylor won the pole vault with a vault of 12'6". Garrett Jack advanced to the Regional in the 400 with his runner-up finish and school record time of 49.78. Also qualifying for the Regional automatically by finishing top 3, besides the aforementioned individuals were Will Parker (3rd, pole vault, 11'6"), Everett Bishop (2nd, 300 hurdles, 39.89), Bryce Cotterman (2nd, 3200, 9:53.89), and the 4x800 team of Bryce Cotterman, Jack Wait, Hunter Wiswell, and David Wasson who finished 2nd in a season best time of 8:22.31. Qualifying for the Regional by receiving a callback were Memphis Blevens (4th, discus, 140'3", 6th, shot put, 46'10.25"), David Wasson (4th, 800, 2:01.57 PR), and Otto Sickels (4th, 3200, 10:07.38). Scoring for the Cougars but not advancing were Garrett Jack (4th, 100, 11.41), Ian Erwin (8th, 100, 11.72), Gavin Smith (6th, 200, 23.81), Nick Ryba (7th, 110 Hurdles, 16.99, 8th, 300 Hurdles, 45.10 PR), Michael Peterson (7th, 1600, 4:48.44), and the 4x100 team of Gavin Smith, Om Aggarwal, Kaden Tompkins, and Ian Erwin (5th, 45.19). Jaxon Conaway ended his season in the 400 with a new PR of 53.72 to finish 11th. Also competing for the Cougars were Ian Erwin (9th, 200, 23.95), Elijah Johnson (11th, Long Jump, 17'8", 12th, 110 Hurdles, 25.43), Bobby Brinkman, (14th, Long Jump, 15'11.25"), and Josiah Johnson (high jump, no height).
