The Cougars picked up a tight conference win over Mt. Vernon Tuesday night, winning 2-1 to move to 14-8 on the season. Steven Walker was electric on the mound once again, throwing a complete game and going all 7 innings. Walker allowed just 1 earned run on 3 hits while striking out 11. A masterful performance from start to finish. Offensively it was a pitchers duel but the Cougars got timely hitting when it mattered. Hayden Kidd drove in both runs on the night. Jacob Welch led the offense going 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base. Henry Close and Ethan Ortwein also contributed hits on the night.
