Women's Track HHC Results

By Christopher Tatom | May 14, 2026 9:18 PM

In a sport where momentum is everything, the team fell short of the execution needed to challenge for the top spots on the podium. However, even on a day when the team as a whole wasn't firing on all cylinders, true character is revealed by those who refuse to throw in the towel. Despite the team score slipping, the Cougars were anchored by the sheer grit and competitive spirit of Josie Kinnaman, Juliann Jones, Laila Avery, Hadley Hill, and Aspen Wiswell, among others. These three athletes embodied the exact team-first mentality required of champions, taking on heavy, exhausting workloads simply because their team needed them to. Josie Kinnaman displayed immense physical and mental toughness, grinding out massive miles in the grueling distance events. To compete in multiple long-distance races in a single evening requires a deep well of resilience, and Kinnaman emptied the tank for her team. Juliann Jones provided a vital spark by bouncing between the explosive demands of the 400-meter dash and the technical focus of the long jump. Jones competed with an aggressive, point-hungry mindset. Aspen Wiswell showcased incredible versatility and unselfishness. Navigating the highly technical pole vault while also stepping onto the track to battle in the 400 meters perfectly illustrates an athlete willing to put the team's needs above her own fatigue. While finishing fifth is not the result Greenfield-Central hoped for, the relentless drive shown by Kinnaman, Jones, and Wiswell provides a powerful silver lining. They proved that even when the chips are down, the Cougars have leaders willing to fight for every single point. No doubt the Cougars will be ready for Sectionals as that mentality will go out to every member of the team.
