Greenfield-Central Cougars tennis bounced back with a win Tuesday night after suffering a heartbreaking 2-3 loss the night before. In one of the most dramatic matches of the season, the Cougars showed resilience all evening, rallying from multiple first-set deficits to secure the team victory. At No. 2 doubles, Chloe Kiser and Anna McQueeney dropped the opening set 4-6. Meanwhile, at No. 1 singles, Kate Gilkison fell behind after losing the first set 2-6. At No. 1 doubles, Lauren Page and Lucy Stewart also found themselves trailing early at 2-3 in the opening set. At 2 and 3 singles, Heritage Christian got up early to take both spots and a 2-0 lead. With the pressure on, Page and Stewart responded first, taking four straight games to claim the first set 6-3 before closing out the match with another 6-3 set victory. That momentum carried over to No. 2 doubles, where Kiser and McQueeney stormed back with a dominant 6-2 second set. Gilkison followed with a strong response of her own at No. 1 singles, battling back from an early deficit to take the second set 6-3. Kiser and McQueeney evened the overall match score by winning the deciding third set 6-4. Moments later, Gilkison delivered the clinching point, dominating the third set 6-0 in just 17 minutes to secure the Cougar victory. The jv team also had several close matches that came down to the wire, but ended up falling 2-4. Audrey Hart, Kate Baker, and Chloe Takach all won for jv.
