The Cougars jumped on North Central early and held on for a 9-6 win at home Monday night. Greenfield-Central plated eight runs in the bottom of the first inning to set the tone, with Hayden Zellers leading the charge. Zellers had a monster night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Carson Richardson delivered in his lone at-bat, ripping a double for three RBIs. Hayden Kidd added two RBIs, and Cooper Safford chipped in another. Jacob Welch, Walker Miller, and Gage Handlon each scored a run, and Welch swiped a base in the win. Hunter Robling went four innings on the mound and picked up the win as the offense built him a comfortable cushion. Parker Springman was outstanding in relief, tossing three innings of one-hit ball and striking out seven to slam the door. The defense played a clean, error-free game. A complete team effort. Cougar baseball.
